The Gilded Filter

The Gilded Filter The world is viewed through a lens of gold, Where the truth is bought, and the soul is sold. It’s a strange alchemy, a dark design, That turns a crime into something fine. The Veil of the Vested The rich man’s shadow is deep and wide, With enough room for his ghosts to hide. His malice is called 'a lapse of grace,' Polished away by a silk embrace. Money is the curtain, heavy and vast, Protecting the present from a hollow past. The Trial of the Tattered But the poor man stands in a freezing light, Where even his virtues are stripped from sight. If he bleeds, they claim it’s a thirsty show, If he weeps, they say it’s for seeds to grow. They hunt for a flaw in a faultless life, And sharpen the tongue like a rusted knife. The Great Deception It mutes the scream of the broken heart, And tears the fabric of truth apart. ⏳ Whispers of Time

Time flows like a river, silent and deep,

Carrying moments, memories we keep.

Each second a lesson, each hour a chance,

To dream, to act, to rise, to dance.

We chase the future, forget today,

Yet every moment shapes our way.

Mistakes will come, and failures too,

But time teaches what courage can do.

Don’t waste the sun on worry or fear,

For life blooms fully when the heart is clear.

The past is a shadow, the future unknown,

But today is a seed that you alone have sown.

So move with purpose, let your spirit shine,

For time and life are gifts divine.

Summary: Whispers of Time

The poem is a reflective piece on the transient nature of time and the importance of mindful living. It serves as a reminder that while time is an unstoppable force (the "river"), it is also our greatest teacher.

Key Themes

  • The Power of "Now": The poet warns against the trap of chasing the future or mourning the past. He emphasizes that "today" is the only space where we actually have the power to plant seeds for our lives.
  • Resilience through Growth: It acknowledges that mistakes and failures are inevitable, but reframes them as essential lessons that build courage.
  • Emotional Clarity: There is a strong call to let go of "worry or fear," suggesting that life only truly "blooms" when we approach it with a clear heart and a sense of purpose.
  • Life as a Gift: The concluding lines elevate time from a mere measurement to a "divine gift," urging the reader to move with intentionality and spirit.
  • The Takeaway: Time isn't just passing us by; it is the medium through which we create ourselves. Don't just watch the river flow—make sure you're dancing in it.
